Mark Zuckerberg 👦 started a social networking website named Facebook in the year 2004. It was one of the most successful social networking platforms, which gained a few billion users within a few years. It is a platform where one can easily connect with people belonging to different countries. You can make new friends and make a group and continue having a conversation.
It is a platform that gives daily updates on the regular happenings of the world. You can follow your idol and your favorite sportsperson on it as well. It is also a platform where you can upload your pictures and your everyday thoughts. Your friends can place their opinion as well on it.
Users who are willing to use Facebook have to register before using the site. A person who is thirteen years old can register on Facebook and can make new friends from all around the world. It was not Mark Zuckerberg alone who started Facebook. He was supported by his roommates and computer science students, Eduardo Saverin and Dustin Moskovitz. His friend Chris Hughes was also a helping hand. The membership of this website was only limited to the Harvard students in the beginning. Then it extended its branches, and now almost every individual in every corner of the world hold a profile on Facebook. It has grown gradually in the past few years and has grown successfully.
It is a free website, and no one has to pay for it to get registered. A person needs their email id or phone number, and after verification, the Facebook profile will be created. If we compare Facebook to other websites, it is more trustable and safe because it is one of the most famous and regularly used websites. However, at times your profile might get hacked, but it can be recovered in no time.
It enables a person to stay in touch with one another, just by a mere message. Users can also upload a limited amount of information about themselves. They can choose what they want to share about themselves. Facebook’s privacy settings are user friendly, and every user can adjust it according to their comfort mode. It is one of the best options to stay in touch with people. A stable internet connection is all you need. But it also has its drawbacks. Too much of anything is not good. For students, especially school going students, constant use of Facebook can hamper their studies. It can be a distraction at times because it is such a platform that keeps you glued on to it.
It can be the best way to pass your leisure time, but getting back to work is also necessary. Everything has a right side and comes with its share of disadvantages. It is every individual’s choice how they use the platform. They can use it advantageously and get to know people from different cultures and places or waste their fruitful time on it, to keep themselves entertained.
